43. Mosaic Fertilizer 2015 ($1,980 million)
The world’s largest phosphate mining company, Mosaic Fertilizer, agreed to pay almost US$2 billion to the US DOJ and EPA in October 2015 over allegations that it had improperly stored hazardous waste at eight sites in Florida and Louisiana.
