Ansu Banerjee is an assistant regional director in the SEC’s FCPA unit in Los Angeles, California.
An experienced securities attorney, Banerjee has been with the SEC since at least 2004. He has been a practising attorney for 22 years.
In his time at the SEC, Banerjee has worked on several notable FCPA cases. He was a lawyer on the US$365 million foreign bribery settlement with Italian oil company ENI and its former Dutch subsidiary Snamprogetti Netherlands in 2010. That same year, he also worked on the US$338 million FCPA settlement with French oil services company Technip.
More recently, he conducted the investigation into German software company SAP, which resolved foreign bribery violations in Panama with a US$3.7 million settlement in early 2016.
Beverage company Anheuser-Busch InBev, which in September 2016 paid US$6 million to settle FCPA books and records violations, must file reports over two years on its anti-corruption compliance programme to Banerjee.
