Perkins Coie has a fledgling Foreign Corrupt Practices Act practice in Washington. The primary partner working on FCPA matters is Barak Cohen, who was a trial attorney in the Justice Department’s criminal division between 2008 and 2014. Cohen was hired by the firm in 2014 to bolster the white-collar practice in DC. He formerly worked in private practice with Kirkland & Ellis and Zuckerman Spaeder. At the DOJ he primarily prosecuted corruption cases for the public integrity section.
Cohen works with multinational companies in the healthcare, technology and life sciences industries on FCPA matters. The majority of his work focuses on internal investigations, and he spends some time advising companies on compliance.
