Kirkland & Ellis
Kirkland & Ellis’s Washington, DC, practice’s FCPA stalwart is William Stuckwisch, a former assistant chief in the fraud section’s foreign bribery unit.
Stuckwisch has handled some of the top foreign bribery matters over the past few years, including initiating the investigation of French conglomerate Alstom while in the DOJ in 2012 to currently serving as the World Bank-appointed investigator for a multinational corporation.
The firm’s DC practice is anchored by Robert Khuzami, a director of the SEC’s enforcement division from 2009 to 2013. Khuzami, a former Southern District of New York assistant US attorney, was hailed for bringing a prosecutor’s sensibility to the job at a time when Congress and the public were clamouring for more aggressive investigation of the 2008 Wall Street collapse. A general counsel for Deutsche Bank before joining the SEC, Khuzami now represents the bank in an array of matters, including the Forex and Libor investigations.
John Eisenberg and Mario Mancuso are two other DC-based partners who advise on FCPA matters.
