Foley & Lardner
Foley & Lardner’s FCPA practice in DC is led by Scott Fredericksen, a former federal prosecutor, and Gregory Husisian, the firm’s go-to for compliance expertise. Fredericksen served as an assistant US attorney in Washington, DC, and as the chief of the criminal section at the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia..
In private practice, Fredericksen is known for serving as the corporate monitor to AGA Medical Corporation, a medical device manufacturer that agreed to pay a US$2 million criminal penalty in 2008 for allegedly paying bribes to government officials in China. He oversaw AGA’s successful certification with the company’s three-year deferred prosecution agreement during the course of a merger with St Jude Medical.
Other recent FCPA matters handled by the firm are confidential. The firm has conducted investigations for a large auto supply chain company in Mexico and China, and for a medium-sized auto company in Brazil. It is also advising on an ongoing investigation for a large pharmaceutical company. Fredericksen is acting for an individual in connection with the ongoing corruption investigation into world football governing body Fifa by the US Justice Department.
Foley also supplied the FCPA unit with one of their trial attorneys. Rohan Virginkar joined the unit in 2011 after seven years as an associate at Foley specialising in FCPA matters.
