Peter Lallas

Peter C Lallas joined the Department of Justice’s Foreign Corrupt Practices Act unit in 2018 on a one-year detail from the US attorney’s office in Washington, DC. A spokesperson for DC attorney’s office confirmed the move but declined to provide further information.

Lallas gained his law degree from the New York University School of Law in 2004. He joined Hogan & Hartson (now Hogan Lovells) as an associate that same year, and worked at the firm until 2010 when he became an assistant US attorney in the District of Columbia.

He prosecuted former financial advisor Brian Ourand who admitted to stealing from four high-profile sportsmen, including former boxer Mike Tyson. Ourand was sentenced to 33 months in September. Lallas worked on the case with David Last, who moved to the DOJ’s FCPA unit while working on the prosecution.

Last joined the unit on detail from the US attorney’s office in DC in April 2016. The detail was made permanent last year and he was promoted to assistant chief.

Lallas went to Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. He also attended high school in Ithaca.
