Gerald Moody
Gerald Moody Jr joined the Justice Department’s criminal division fraud section as a prosecutor in January 2016. He was the first of 10 new prosecutors that criminal division chief Leslie Caldwell announced in November 2015 would be hired for the section’s Foreign Corrupt Practices Act unit. He was promoted to assistant chief in January 2021.
Three months after arriving at the DOJ, Moody was also appointed as a special assistant US attorney.
Moody was most recently a litigation associate at the New York law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell.
In 2008, Moody worked pro bono with Davis Polk lawyers for thirty-six Vietnamese restaurant workers who sued their employer Saigon Grill for violating labour laws. The firm helped the workers win a US$4.6 million judgment.
Moody studied for his BA in literature at Bard College, a liberal arts college in New York. He got his law degree at Columbia University, graduating in 2009. He joined Davis Polk as an associate in 2008 after stints as a paralegal at the law offices of Adam D Perlmutter and as an intern at the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York.
