Dallas Kaplan
Dallas Kaplan, a former assistant US attorney in North Carolina, joined the criminal division fraud section’s FCPA unit as a trial attorney in November 2019.
Kaplan spent nearly three years as an assistant US attorney in the western district of North Carolina where he acted as one of the lead prosecutors on several fraud cases concerning healthcare and real estate.
One of his most recent and prominent cases as assistant US attorney include a medicaid fraud scheme where the defendant, Tony Taylor, defrauded the North Carolina Medicaid of more than $6.1 million by submitting fraudulent reimbursement claims for services that were never provided. Taylor pleaded guilty to health care fraud conspiracy and tax evasion charges in October 2019.
Prior to joining the US Department of Justice, Kaplan spent about five years in private practice as an associate at Morgan Lewis Bockius and at White & Chase. Kaplan is a 2010 alumni of the University of Virginia School of Law.
