Benjamin Saltzman
Benjamin Saltzman was a trial attorney in the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act unit.
Saltzman worked as a litigation associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton from 2015 before joining the US Department of Justice. He previously worked at Cleary Gottlieb in the same role in 2011.
Another former Cleary associate, Sarah Edwards, joined the FCPA unit in October 2016.
In between two stints at Cleary, Saltzman was a law clerk for Judge Griesa in the Southern District of New York in 2013, and the year before that, he was a law clerk to Judge Katzmann at the Massachusetts Appeals Court.
Saltzman was a summer associate at O'Melveny & Myers in 2010, and a summer intern in the DOJ's civil rights division criminal section in 2009. He also interned for Judge Paul Chernoff in 2008 at the Massachusetts Superior Court.
He studied at Harvard University in 2003, where he majored in social studies before attending Harvard Law School in 2008. During law school, Saltzman was a student attorney at the Harvard legal aid bureau.
