New York financial regulator suspends Promontory over Standard Chartered probe

New York's Department of Financial Services has ordered consulting company Promontory Financial Group to suspend operations for an indefinite period, after the regulator questioned the independence of the company's internal investigation into sanctions violations allegations at UK bank Standard Chartered, according to reports.
