France backs BNP in sanctions probe
French foreign minister Laurent Fabius yesterday criticised the US for its actions in the BNP Paribas investigation. The French bank reportedly faces a fine of over US$10 billion for allegedly violating US sanctions against Sudan, Iran and Syria between 2002 and 2009.
