EU takes first step to relaxing Iran sanctions

The European Council announced on 31 July that it will allow the shipment of certain nuclear-related equipment out of Iran and the modernisation of a particular nuclear reactor as part of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action agreed on 14 July.
