Second Indictment In Panama Bribery Case
There was news today that a second American citizen has been charged with conspiracy to violate the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act in connection with a Panamanian bribery scandal involving lighthouses and buoys near the Panama Canal. Apart from the seedy details, the story is interesting because it speaks to opposing narratives –at least historically–on conducting corruption investigations in Latin America.
