Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison

Paul Weiss’s overall DC white-collar practice is strong, but the majority of the firm’s 13 partners who work on FCPA matters are based in New York.

In DC, Mark Mendelsohn is co-chair of the firm’s FCPA group. Mendelsohn regularly advises clients on investigating FCPA violations, designing compliance programmes, and conducting due diligence on mergers.

As a deputy chief of the DOJ criminal division fraud section from 2005 to 2010, Mendelsohn oversaw all FCPA investigations and prosecutions under the FCPA. He is credited with developing the Justice Department’s modern FCPA enforcement programme.

Since joining Paul Weiss six years ago, Mendelsohn has advised entertainment company Sony Pictures, financial services firm JP Morgan Chase and others on FCPA internal investigations.

Mendelsohn works alongside partner Alex Oh, co-chair of the FCPA practice, who previously served for nearly four years as a prosecutor in the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York.
