O’Melveny & Myers
O’Melveny & Myers fields a strong team of FCPA practitioners in DC, including many former government officials.
Mary Patrice Brown is a 23-year veteran of the Justice Department, where she held several senior positions including deputy assistant attorney general for the criminal division and head of the Office of Professional Responsibility, the department’s ethics watchdog. While with the US Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, Brown served as chief of the criminal division.
Other experienced FCPA practitioners in Washington include Greta Lichtenbaum and David Leviss, a former trial attorney in the DOJ’s civil division. Former firm chair Arthur Culvahouse Jr, who served as White House counsel to former President Ronald Reagan, also advises on FCPA matters.
Over the last year, the firm has represented dozens of clients in a wide range of FCPA-related cases. Brown is the lead partner representing a former senior employee of an aircraft manufacturer in a joint DOJ and SEC investigation. Lichtenbaum is advising a major financial organisation on a variety of FCPA matters, and conducting foreign bribery risk assessments and audits for a multinational chemical company and a US semiconductor manufacturer.
