Jenner & Block

Jenner & Block’s FCPA practice in DC consists of Tom Perrelli, William Pericak and Nick Barnaby.

Barnaby, who also advises on commercial litigation matters, has been at the firm since April 2011. Perrelli, a former associate attorney general overseeing the Justice Department’s civil, antitrust, civil rights, environment and natural resources and tax divisions, joined the firm in November 2012 to create the government controversies and public policy litigation practice.

In December 2014, Jenner added Pericak, a 25-year veteran of the Justice Department who served between 2011 and 2014 in the criminal division’s fraud section, where he was assistant chief and counsel to the section chief. During his time at the section, Pericak directed the Deepwater Horizon Task Force and oversaw the investigation of New Jersey-based construction company Louis Berger, which in July 2015 paid US$17.1 million to resolve criminal FCPA charges. Pericak’s brother, Patrick, continues to serve as a senior trial attorney in the FCPA unit.

The firm is close-lipped about their clients but Perrelli, Pericak and Barnaby say they are currently handling a number of cases. Barnaby, for example, recently conducted a post-acquisition compliance review of a multinational company spanning multiple countries. The firm has also conducted internal investigations for a number of clients, including a Fortune 500 company, a mid-sized US defence contractor, the European subsidiary of a Fortune 100 company and a multinational defence industry company.
