Richard Best

Richard R Best became a regional director in the SEC’s Salt Lake City office in June 2015.

He graduated from the State University of New York, College at Old Westbury, studying computer science, and obtained his law degree from Howard University School of Law in 1993.

He joined the SEC from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority in New York, where he served as a senior director and chief counsel in the enforcement division.

Best spent 10 years working as an assistant district attorney with the Bronx County District Attorney office, working on public integrity cases.

He was also an adjunct lecturer in New York’s John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
