Facebook 2019 – SEC
Facebook agreed to pay the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) $100 million on 24 July 2019 to resolve a complaint that it failed to sufficiently inform the market that user data had been misused by a third party. The social media company agreed a $5 billion civil settlement with the Federal Trade Commission over the same underlying conduct on the same day.
