The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) yesterday announced Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr partner Stephanie Avakian as its new deputy head of enforcement. Avakian previously worked as an enforcement branch chief in the SEC’s New York office and was later counsel to SEC commissioner Paul Carey.
