Xin Liu is a partner in the Asia dispute resolution practice. He splits his time between the Hong Kong and mainland China offices.
Xin specialises in international investigation and compliance matters, international arbitration, cross-border litigation, and economic sanctions and export controls, with a particular focus on China-related matters. Prior to joining Freshfields, Xin worked for four years with a leading Chinese law firm in Beijing and the World Bank in Washington, DC. Xin has also been seconded to Freshfields’ New York City office for a year.
Xin has more than 10 years of practice experience, including extensive experience in complex regulatory investigations, internal investigations and crisis management, in particular with respect to alleged bribery, violations of the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Acts, money laundering, fraud, export control and sanctions violations, tax evasion and market abuse, as well as developing and implementing compliance programmes. He also helps clients deal with investigations and sanctions by multilateral development banks.
