William Boddy is a partner in McGuireWoods’ London office. He is a risk management and litigation strategist for global corporations and financial institutions. He represents clients in international arbitrations, before UK courts in complex multi-jurisdictional cases and in high-stakes regulatory proceedings. William’s cases often involve allegations of fraud and applications for urgent injunctive relief, including freezing orders. His experience covers a range of industries, including technology, telecommunications, banking and oil and gas, in respect of which he has acted for both corporate and private clients.
Alongside his litigation practice, William advises on a variety of general commercial and compliance matters, including professional negligence, data privacy and security, contractual obligations and directors’ duties, often in the context of insolvency. He also advises on compliance with domestic and EU regulations, including the GDPR, and anti-corruption laws such as the UK Bribery Act 2010.
