Sarah Burford has worked on a variety of matters, including high court litigation, high-level energy projects for both renewable and non-renewable energy sources, due diligences and writing legal opinions on various topics. She specialises in environmental compliance of renewable and non-renewable energy projects, advising on and negotiating energy agreements and environmental authorisation procedures.
She completed her LLM at the University of Pretoria in 2019 focusing on retroactive environmental authorisations of activities and examining the consequences it posed. She was admitted as an attorney in 2019 after completing her articles at VZLR Inc in Pretoria and focused on medical law, third-party matters and unlawful arrests. After her admission, she joined a mining house as in-house counsel, predominantly with drafting off-taking, mining and contractors agreements, negotiating debt collections, labour law issues, corporate structuring and advising on various other internal legal matters.
