Renato Tastardi Portella

Renato has more than 20 years of practice and substantial experience in advising clients in anti-corruption investigations and government enforcement actions. Renato joined Mattos Filho in late 1999 as an associate in the corporate and M&A practice in São Paulo. After a significant growth in demand for compliance-related advice and representation over the past years, Renato transitioned from the corporate and M&A practice to create the compliance and corporate ethics practice of Mattos Filho. He advises clients in matters related to corporate integrity, anti-corruption compliance, government investigations and enforcement actions, as well as corporate governance issues. His expertise includes developing compliance programmes, conducting internal investigations, due diligence and risk assessments, and representing clients in administrative enforcement actions.He has a Bachelor of Laws from the University of São Paulo and a postgraduate degree in economic law from the Fundação Getúlio Vargas.
