Renata Muzzi is a partner at TozziniFreire’s compliance and investigation practice group and focuses her practice on compliance matters, with particular expertise in internal investigations. Her experience includes advising companies, boards of directors and independent committees on prevention, detection, response and remediation of compliance and anti-corruption matters. She advises clients on developing and implementing compliance and anti-corruption programmes, conducting cross-border internal investigations, risk assessments and anti-corruption M&A due diligence. Renata also represents clients in the interaction with government authorities in cooperation and leniency agreements. She was the first Brazilian to obtain the Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional certification granted by the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics in 2008. For the past seven years, Renata has co-chaired the GIR/Latin Lawyer Annual Anti-Corruption & Investigations in São Paulo. She also coordinates the Forum of Compliance Professionals, created by TozziniFreire in 2008 to share and benchmark best practices in compliance, which composed of approximately 100 companies. Renata attended the FBI Compliance Academy in Washington, DC and is a member of the Anti-Corruption Committee of International Bar Association. She is recognised by legal guides such as Chambers Global, Chambers Latin America, Latin Lawyer 250 and Análise Advocacia 500. She is a Latin American Corporate Counsel Association (LACCA) ‘Thought Leader’ in anti-corruption and compliance and is LACCA Approved.
