Paw Fruerlund is an equity partner at the law firm Poul Schmith located in Copenhagen, Denmark. Paw has extensive experience in litigation and arbitration matters and has handled several high-profile matters in recent years, many of them as a defensive counsel protecting client against claims and upholding public decisions.
Paw heads up one of the firm’s dispute resolution teams and represents commercial and government clients in complex and principle matter before all Danish courts and in arbitration, particularly within commercial matters, technology and defense of public. Paw has the right of audience before the Danish Supreme Court.
Since 2015, Paw has handled several matters regarding immense and complex IT systems, eg, the Danish tax department’s previous debt collection system. Internally at the law firm Poul Schmith, Paw has been one of the proponents of the law firm’s digital agenda, spearheading three of these solutions The Insolvency Portal, Caseview and eArbitration, the latter two supporting arbitration and litigation matters.
Finally, Paw has taught international arbitration and trade law at the University of Southern Denmark from 2011-2014 and has participated in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot as an arbitrator since 2011, two times also as a coach. Paw is Prince2 certified and applies these principles on large and complex cases. Paw is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel.
