Neal J. Smitheman

Neal J. Smitheman is a senior partner of Fasken Martineau, specializing in corporate/white collar crime, antitrust/competition, mining and aboriginal litigation. Neal has extensive trial and appellate experience. He has successfully defended numerous individuals charged under the Criminal Code of Canada, including everything from impaired driving to criminal negligence. Neal’s criminal practice extends to corporate/white collar crime and quasi-criminal matters, including under the Corruption of Foreign Public Officials Act, the Competition Act, Environmental Protection Act, the Ontario Water Resources Act, the Fisheries Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Electricity Act, the Atomic Energy Act and other statutes. Neal is a co-chair of the American Bar Association Criminal Justice Section Regional Sub-Committee (Canada) on White Collar Crime.
