Marianela Romero is associate in the regulatory practice group at Galicia. She supports clients in compliance matters, particularly in the establishment of compliance programmes, training and investigations. She is a member of Galicia’s Pro Bono and Sustainability Committees.
Marianela obtained her law degree from the Economic Research and Teaching Centre (CIDE) (2009) and a master’s in public policy from the Hertie School of Governance (2014) under a DAAD scholarship. She completed postgraduate studies in EU law at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). She received the Golden Decoration of Merit of the Republic of Austria for her support in the incorporation of the Austrian School in Mexico. Marianela worked as foreign associate at the Frankfurt offices of Hengeler Mueller.
She is secretary of the board of trustees of Proeducación and secretary of the board of directors of the German School (Colegio Alemán Alexander von Humboldt) in Mexico, where she leads the Corporate Governance Committee. She is professor of mergers and acquisitions at CIDE.
The Legal 500 has named her as a Rising Star in M&A practice.
