Lawrence McMahon is an associate in the firm’s litigation department. Mr McMahon advises clients at all stages of litigation and investigations across a range of industries, with a focus on financial services. Additionally, Mr McMahon advises commodities and derivatives exchanges and market participants on regulatory risk and compliance under the securities and commodities laws, and he advises international fintech platforms on compliance with US securities and banking regulation. Mr McMahon maintains an active pro bono practice, focusing on civil litigation in state and federal courts.
Mr McMahon earned his JD at Yale Law School, where he was an editor of the Yale Law Journal. During law school, he wrote portions of a Supreme Court amicus brief, and he worked on antitrust matters at the Maryland Office of the Attorney General. Previously, he served in the communications bureau of a non-profit organisation, and he taught Middle Eastern history at Georgetown University.
