His practice covers litigation, arbitrations and regulatory investigations with a particular focus on China-related disputes. His clients include major international banks, listed corporations, Big Four accounting firms and the Hong Kong government.His recent experience includes acting for an international forestry company in London-seated ICC arbitrations against Chinese counterparties; a global investment bank in London court proceedings against Chinese counterparties involving pledged assets in China; a group of lenders in a syndicated loan for the recovery from Chinese counterparties of a loan worth over US$500 million; a global fund management company in Hong Kong court proceedings involving a multimillion-US-dollar claim regarding trading in convertible bonds; a global investment bank on a potential CIETAC arbitration against a PRC company for recovery of a debt worth over US$20 million; a Big Four accounting firm in Hong Kong court proceedings by the Securities and Futures Commission for cross-border production of audit papers; a Big Four accounting firm in Hong Kong court proceedings involving a US$500 million professional negligence claim; the Hong Kong government in defending Hong Kong court proceedings involving a multibillion-HK-dollar claim by a Hong Kong-listed telecommunications company relating to an infrastructure project in Hong Kong; an international pharmaceutical company in a CIETAC arbitration in Beijing involving breaches of supply contracts with PRC counterparties; and a Hong Kong-listed corporation in a shareholders’ dispute and related unfair prejudice court proceedings in Hong Kong involving subsidiaries with substantial assets in the PRC.Justin is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
