Emily Goddard is a senior associate in Clifford Chance’s litigation and dispute resolution group in London. She advises on a range of contentious matters and has particular experience in investigations and regulatory enforcement action, white-collar crime and business and human rights (BHR).
Her BHR work includes advising global clients on human rights and environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues, including due diligence and responsible investment frameworks (she has a particular interest in hardening regulation concerning human rights and environmental due diligence, and the potential for increased litigation in the future); advising clients on the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and other similar standards, including appropriate implementation of anti-human trafficking and slavery measures within their organisations, reporting requirements and supply chain due diligence; and advising on policy content and implementation consistent with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and on related corporate governance.
Emily leads the firm’s ESG investigations working group, which focuses on the firm’s BHR and investigations practice, including investigations into clients’ supply chain or security incidents.
