Managing Associate, Mishcon de Reya LLP
Elizabeth Hope is a managing associate in the contentious regulatory and enforcement team that sits within the firm’s finance and banking group. Elizabeth’s practice is exclusively focused on contentious regulatory and enforcement work, and she has significant experience in advising regulated firms and senior individuals at risk of, or under, regulatory investigation by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and Prudential Regulation Authority for alleged serious misconduct or rule breaches.
Elizabeth has played a key role in some of the most important financial services cases of recent years and she brings great judgement to her role. Her experience includes cases concerning complex multi-party market abuse, serious misconduct, breaches of general prohibition, supervisory/pre-enforcement enquiries and internal investigations.
Elizabeth also benefited from a seven-month secondment to the FCA’s Enforcement Division, where she gained valuable insight into the FCA’s approach to enforcement and future priorities.
Elizabeth is described in The Legal 500 2022 as ‘a name to note’, ‘the stand-out associate’ and as ‘building a solid contentious regulatory and enforcement practice’.
