Donna Wacker is the co-head of Clifford Chance’s Asia Pacific regulatory practice and the head of both the Hong Kong contentious regulatory and contentious insolvency practices. She is admitted in Hong Kong, Australia and England and Wales and has been practising in Asia since 1999.

Donna specialises in regulatory enforcement investigations and advice in the financial sector, as well as dispute resolution for financial services firms, particularly complex, cross-border disputes. She has represented financial institutions, intermediaries, funds and corporates on a range of regulatory issues and investigations (such as insider dealing, misuse of confidential information, market manipulation, mis-selling of derivatives, electronic trading issues, mismarking of trading books, conflict of interest and breaches of reporting obligations), as well as complex litigation (including mis-selling claims and derivatives litigation), and insolvency issues and resolution.

Donna is ranked highly in Chambers and Partners for litigation and contentious regulatory work. She is similarly well regarded in The Legal 500, IFLR1000 and is recognised as a Global Leader for Investigations in Who’s Who Legal. She is the chairperson of the Hong Kong Law Society’s Overseas Lawyers Qualification Committee and a founding member of the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation, Hong Kong Chapter.
