Daewoong Lee is a foreign attorney in the International Arbitration and Cross-Border Litigation and Engineering and Construction Disputes practices at Kim & Chang. He has extensive experience in claims, disputes and contracts in relation to oil and gas, power, infrastructure, industrial and environmental engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) projects. Throughout his career, his work has especially been focused in large-scale EPC projects in the middle east. He has represented clients in arbitration cases under ICC, LCIA, LMAA, HKIAC and KCAB rules. He also regularly advises clients on a wide range of complex construction contract/law issues, especially in delay and disruption claims. Prior to joining the firm, Mr Lee was a senior in-house counsel at Engineering Co, Ltd from 2007 to 2016. From 2012 to 2016, he was based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, working on dispute matters in ongoing oil and gas and power plant projects in the region. His experiences also include advising on commercial transactions for EPC projects, and he has drafted, reviewed and negotiated related agreements for multibillion dollars EPC projects in various jurisdictions around the world. He has also acted as project counsel in such projects during their execution, advising the project teams in contracts, claims and disputes issues.
