Boris Kasolowsky is a partner and co-head of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer's international arbitration group and is based in Frankfurt, having previously practised in Freshfields' London and Vienna offices. His arbitration experience includes numerous ad hoc, DIS, ICC, ICSID, LCIA, Vienna Rules and UNCITRAL arbitrations. He also represents clients in cross-border, international litigation matters, including in the English High Court and the German courts. Boris regularly appears as counsel and sits as arbitrator in commercial arbitrations concerning long-term supply agreements, M&A transactions, infrastructure and oil and gas projects. He also represents and advises governments and commercial entities in relation to disputes under relevant bilateral and multilateral investment treaties, including under the Energy Charter Treaty. Boris holds a law degree from Oxford University, a master's degree from the School of Oriental and African Studies, London University, and a doctorate from Hamburg University. He is qualified as a solicitor (England and Wales), a solicitor advocate and German Rechtsanwalt. He speaks English, German, French and Arabic.
