(PhD from Leiden University) is a partner at Oehmichen International.com. She has practised law for 10 years in mostly international and cross-border cases, specialising in breach of trust, (tax) fraud, corruption, foreign trade criminal law, extradition and MLA law, covering German, European and international law. She regularly assists foreign colleagues in extradition cases with links to German jurisdiction, but also beyond. She speaks German, English, French, Spanish and Dutch. Anna is a European delegate of the Criminal Law Commission of the German Bar Association, and, in that capacity, she has also been appointed as a member of a working group to reform the current German MLA law. She recently coordinated a series of publications on cooperation in criminal matters post BREXIT, jointly with Professor ret. Dr. h.c. (DURHAM) Wolfgang Schomburg, fm. judge at UN-ICTY and UN-ICTR, which was published in the New Journal on European Criminal Law. Anna was appointed expert to the European Parliament’s Research Service. She is a member of the ECBA’s working group on the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, and a member of the Fair Trial International Legal Experts Advisory Panel (LEAP).
Besides her legal practice, Anna gives lectures on European Criminal Law at the Justus-Liebig-University of Gießen, Germany, and regularly publishes on criminal law and extradition matters in English and German. Prior to her work as a defence counsel, Anna worked at the National Agency for the Prevention against Torture and at the Centre for Criminology in Wiesbaden on an evaluation study of German counter-terror legislation.
