Amélie Champsaur is a partner resident in the Paris office of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP. Ms Champsaur specialises across a broad range of EU and cross-border financial regulatory, investigations and compliance matters. She also has extensive experience on M&A, capital markets and financial transactions, particularly in the financial sector.

Ms Champsaur represents EU and non-EU financial institutions, funds and sovereigns on the implementation of EU regulatory reforms and compliance matters (including corporate governance, remuneration and capital requirements) and cross-border aspects of US regulatory legislation and frameworks.

She was recently recognised as one of the “40 under 40 Rising Stars” for legal services in the EU by Financial News and as a “Rising Star” by Magazine des Affaires for her noteworthy work on financial regulatory and M&A matters. She was also a nominee for the 2014 and 2015 Euromoney LMG Europe Women in Business Law Award in Corporate Governance, and she was awarded the Prix du Juriste HEC 2012.

She received her LLM degree from Harvard Law School in 2005. She received a DESS in business law in 2001 from the University of Paris IX (Dauphine), and a Maitrise in business and tax law in 2001 from the law school of the University of Paris XI (Sceaux). Ms Champsaur graduated from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC) in 2000.

Ms Champsaur is a member of the Bar in Paris. Her native language is French, and she is fluent in English and proficient in Italian and German.
