Alexandra Luchenko has specialised expertise in corporate and securities litigation. Her trial and appellate experience relating to securities litigation includes contested merger transactions, takeover bids and proxy fights, plans of arrangements, shareholder litigation, dissent proceedings, contractual disputes, directors’ and officers’ liability, class actions and defending law enforcement, and regulatory proceedings.
Alexandra has considerable experience in cross-border mandates, acting as co-counsel with firms around the world. She acts for both public and private companies in a number of different industries, including mining, energy, pharmaceuticals, technology, aviation and transportation. Alexandra prides herself on providing practical, business-focused legal advice. In 2021, she was recognised as one of Benchmark Litigation’s Top 50 Women in Litigation in Canada. She has appeared at all levels of court in Canada as lead counsel.
Alexandra brings her litigation experience and Certified Fraud Examiner certification to policy-building, investigation work and crisis management in the context of internal investigations, corporate compliance and cybersecurity incidents. In 2021, Alexandra had the honour of being recognised as one of GIR’s 100 Women in Investigations. She is also the chair of Blakes Vancouver’s diversity committee and enjoys contributing to mentoring and pro bono initiatives within the firm and beyond.
