Claire McLoughlin is a partner in the Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department at Matheson and is Co-Head of the Regulatory and Investigations Group. Claire advises a wide variety of clients on contentious matters, with a particular focus on the areas of banking and financial services disputes, contractual disputes and corporate offences.She has extensive experience in managing and resolving disputes, including large scale and complex court proceeding, and by way of alternative dispute resolution.

Claire regularly advises clients on crisis management and reputational issues, investigations and inquiries, white-collar and business crime and anti-corruption / bribery legislation in addition to matters involving large-scale document disclosure and “big ticket” litigation. Her clients include directors, senior managers and controlled function holders, regulators, domestic and international companies and a number of the world’s leading financial institutions. Claire has acted for one of the world’s largest banks in defending multi-million dollar claims made in multiple fund and related investor Commercial Court proceedings arising out of the Madoff US fraud, and advising on related regulatory inquiries and multi-jurisdictional litigation.
