Sunil Gadhia is a partner based in the London office of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP. Mr Gadhia’s practice focuses on English and international disputes and investigations. He has significant experience advising on international financial and banking regulatory investigations and enforcement matters and related litigation. He has, for example, had substantial involvement in investigations relating to LIBOR and foreign exchange. Additionally, he has particular expertise advising on all aspects on of UN, EU and UK sanctions, including challenging sanctions in the EU and English courts.
Mr Gadhia’s representative clients include corporates, financial institutions and individuals. He has extensive experience of advising such clients on internal investigations, anti-money laundering and compliance issues, anti-trust issues, bribery and corruption and conduct issues generally. He has extensive experience of dealing with regulators and law enforcement agencies in multiple jurisdictions and coordinating associated litigation in multiple jurisdictions.

Mr Gadhia joined Cleary Gottlieb as a partner in May 2012, after more than 23 years at a previous law firm, where he was appointed Chief Executive in 2003 at the age of 38, during which time he continued to practice as a litigation partner. He stood down from this position in 2009, returning to a full-time role as a litigation partner.
