US EPA investigating five car manufacturers as emissions scandal grows

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which on 18 September revealed that Volkswagen cheated emission tests by using illegal software in its diesel cars, is now investigating diesel car models made by BMW, Chrysler, General Motors, Jaguar Land Rover and Daimler, which makes Mercedes-Benz, for similar misconduct, according to reports.
