US appeals court decision gives boost to SEC whistleblower protections

A US appeals court has effectively ruled that whistleblowers are protected from retaliation under the Dodd-Frank Act when they report wrongdoing internally to their employer – increasing the likelihood of the issue reaching the US Supreme Court.
