Switzerland grants US Fifa extradition request

Switzerland’s Federal Department of Justice has granted a US Department of Justice (DoJ) request to extradite Venezuelan football official Rafael Esquivel, who the DoJ believes received millions of dollars in bribes in exchange for awarding companies marketing rights to South American football tournaments in 2007, 2015, 2016, 2019 and 2023, according to reports.
