SEC announces first hires-for-favours FCPA settlement
BNY Mellon has agreed to pay US$14.8 million to settle charges brought by the US Securities and Exchange Commission that it violated the FCPA by giving student internships to relatives of government officials connected to a Middle Eastern sovereign wealth fund, the authority said in a statement on 18 August.
