SDNY investigates multiple banks over abuse of government scheme
The US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York (SDNY) is investigating five banks for allegedly overcharging the government, it has emerged. According to Reuters, the office is probing whether the banks charged too much for expenses incurred while carrying out foreclosures on federally backed mortgages.
