Panellists agree on need for better cartel deterrence

Although cartel detection has rocketed in recent years, the way in which the world’s governments punish antitrust convicts, often by piling fines one on top of the other, has been an ineffectual deterrent for would-be price fixers, antitrust experts said on Saturday.
