Fifa accused of taking bribes to award 2006 World Cup to Germany
German magazine Der Spiegel has accused German football officials of bribing representatives at world football governing body Fifa in exchange for receiving votes to host the 2006 World Cup. According to the report, the then-CEO of sportswear company Adidas, the late Robert Louis-Dreyfus, helped finance the scheme.
