FCA observes London gold fix

The UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has visited Société Générale to observe how London’s gold fix is carried out, sources told Bloomberg. The fix is a widely used benchmark which sets the price of gold twice a day through a conference call between Barclays, Deutsche Bank, Bank of Nova Scotia and HSBC – though Deutsche Bank is looking to sell its slot and withdraw from the process.
