DoJ and SEC: if you want cooperation credit, don't spin investigation reports

The chief of the SEC’s FCPA unit, Kara Brockmeyer, and the deputy chief of the DoJ’s Fraud section, Patrick Stokes, have said that companies conducting internal investigations often harm their position by trying to make the misconduct they uncover appear less severe.
