Bribes paid during Petrobras purchase of Texan oil refinery, prosecutors say
Brazilian prosecutors investigating corruption at state-controlled oil company Petrobras said on 16 November that bribes were paid as part of Petrobras’s US$1.2 billion purchase in 2006 of a Texas oil refinery, the Pasadena Refining System, from Astra Oil, the US subsidiary for Belgian-controlled oil company Astra Transcor Energy.
