Barclays US investigations head: self-reporting is a company’s “first line of defence”

Barclays’ early self-reporting of potential misconduct to US authorities helped it avoid a criminal penalty from the Justice Department in a recent fraud investigation, according the bank’s head of investigations for the Americas.
